About Tuale Water Initiative

For over a year, the PEER Servants Kenya Chapter volunteers have humbly and respectfully entered the presence of the Animist Samburu people in Tuale village. They have established a foundation of friendship and fellowship as they have explored ways, led by the elders of the tribe, that they could be a blessing to the people of Tuale.

The greatest need identified by the tribal elders is a permanent source of water. Now the women and girls have to go over five miles (one way) to get water, and even then, the water is from a river and not very clean. The path is not always safe, and the young girls are at risk of being raped. The Samburu people of Tuale are semi-nomadic as they search for reliable sources of water for their animals. They would much prefer to establish a permanent residence if they can find a reliable source of water. Much like the woman at the well, they are a people open to the hope of living water as well.

The PEER Servants Kenya Chapter has brought in some of the best talent in Kenya to help find water. A hydrological survey has been completed and the survey suggests water can be found by drilling 250m to tap into it. The costs of the drilling and establishing a quality borehole will be at least $50,000. It will serve 1,000+ people, leading to a cost of around $50 per person to provide a clean, reliable source of water.

In honor of our 30th Anniversary, PEER Servants wants to raise $30,000 by December 31, 2021 towards this project. You can give online by clicking on the "Donate Now" button. If you prefer to send a check, please make it out to "PEER Servants" and send it to PEER Servants, PO Box 258, Woburn, MA 01801. All donations are tax-deductible. Any funds received in excess of the $30,000 goal will go to the Tuale Water Initiative or other kingdom-extending projects of the Kenya Chapter.

Thank you for your generosity as we work together to provide both physical and living water to the Samburu people of Tuale village!
