About Cause 7 - South Sudan Rainwater Harvesting

Teen Captain: Cooper

Due to changing weather patterns and recent climatic conditions around the world, South Sudan has become a victim of fluctuating rainy seasons. Unlike in the past when farmers could count on two rainy seasons, the weather has become unpredictable. This sometimes causes water shortages within communities because they lack equipment for harvesting rainwater. SALT Yei needs $1,520 to install a tank that will help collect rainwater for use during water shortages. Once installed, the tank will benefit a community of 20 households (at a cost of $76 per household) by enhancing their year-round water access.
